Making dinner with Mom

Yesterday I helped my mom make pork & vegetable stir fry and quinoa for supper.  Quinoa looks like tiny round noodles, but it's way healthier. We put 'gai lan' in it, too. I don't know what it's called in English, but it's a green vegetable, that we eat at Dim Sum. I like the leaf part better than the stem because it's juicier. Mom let me bash the lemon grass with a meat tenderizer so that it smells and tastes more like lemon. She then cooked pieces of pork and showed me how it looks when it's done.
Also, I wanted to tell you about a cool cooking show for kids. It's on Sunday mornings at 11:30 on channel 5 (Knowledge Network) and it's called 'Taste Buds'.
Tomorrow it's my dad's birthday, so we will bake his favourite lemon cake. I can't wait!

Welcome to Bella's very own blog about FOOD!

Hi! This is Bella's mommy here to introduce my daughter.
Bella is a bright & loving girl who is passionate about many things in life....among many = FOOD! She is only 8-years-old, but already loves to invent yummy & healthy snacks, drinks, desserts....pretty much anything edible. She is growing up in a family of fellow foodies, chefs, gardeners, etc. Bella also loves to discover new and yummy places to eat in our amazing city of Vancouver, BC and the surrounding area. She is inspired by Jamie Oliver and his work all around the world.
Bella is so excited about good food, that she can't wait to share her experiences with you. She wants to write about and show you her favourite flavours, restaurants, dishes, ingredients..... and hopes that you may discover more of your own, too. If even just one child learns to love new vegetables, or she inspires one family to experiment with healthy flavours, then she will feel that she has succeeded!
From now on Bella will be blogging and I will simply oversee.
Guten Appetit!
